Architecture – School Design & Planning - Internship

We are seeking architecture interns who are eager to move beyond academic

studio work and gain hands-on experience in real-world school design and

planning projects across India.

This role offers practical exposure to educational infrastructure, where

architecture meets pedagogy, operations, and child-centric spatial planning.

Interns will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to

conceptualize, design, and document school campuses - ranging from classrooms

and laboratories to sports, arts, and shared learning spaces.

This is an opportunity to design functional, scalable, and learner-focused

environments rather than purely aesthetic structures.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilites include:

1\. Assist in the design and planning of school buildings and campus layouts

(new developments and upgrades).

2\. Develop concept plans, zoning diagrams, and spatial layouts for:

a. Classrooms (Pre-Primary to Grade 12).

b. Science labs, libraries, and learning commons.

c. Arts, activity, and multipurpose spaces.

d. Playgrounds, sports facilities, and circulation areas.

3\. Support preparation of:

a. 2D drawings and basic 3D models.

b. Visual presentations for internal reviews.

c. Area statements, space standards, and planning documentation.

4\. Participate in:

a. Design reviews and feasibility discussions.

b. Site studies and on-ground assessments.

5\. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Academics, Operations, Sports, Arts

teams) to translate functional requirements into design solutions.

6\. Assist in benchmarking best-in-class school designs (India and globally).
