This internship project is designed to immerse students in the living world of
India's handloom and weaving clusters. Interns will work closely with artisan
communities to document weaving traditions, techniques, stories, and
livelihoods through structured research, photography, videography, and written
narratives. The project aims to create an authentic, well-archived digital
record that preserves craft knowledge while respectfully showcasing the human
stories behind the loom.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Document traditional weaving clusters and their unique craft practices
through field-based research and observation.
2. Capture human stories of weavers, their families, and generational
knowledge with sensitivity and accuracy.
3. Create high-quality visual and written documentation for archival,
educational, and storytelling purposes.
4. Practice ethical documentation by respecting cultural contexts and
promoting sustainable craft ecosystems.
5. Study the history, geography, and cultural background of assigned weaving
clusters.
6. Learn about raw materials, loom types, motifs, colours, and weaving
techniques used in the cluster.
7. Map the value chain from yarn sourcing to finished textiles.
8. Manage written documentation including weaver profiles, family stories,
step-by-step process notes, cultural significance of motifs and textiles,
challenges, aspirations, and the future of the cluster.
9. Execute visual documentation through photography (portraits, detail shots,
environmental images) and videography (process clips, interviews, ambient
footage).
10. Curate content and structure stories for blogs, social media, archives,
and digital platforms with strong captions and cohesive narratives.
11. Deliver final outputs including a cluster documentation report
(PDF/digital booklet), 20-30 edited photographs, 3-5 short videos, 5-7 written
stories, and a concluding presentation summarising learnings and impact.
