UX/UI Design - Internship

We are looking for a UI Design Intern to help improve and evolve Artifact's

web product across both candidate and recruiter experiences.

This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role focused on designing real product

interfaces that ship. You will work closely with the founders and engineers to

refine existing screens, design new UI components, and improve clarity,

usability, and consistency across the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and refine UI components for Artifact's web application (candidate and

recruiter flows)

Improve existing screens for visual consistency, hierarchy, and usability

Create layouts and interaction designs for new features such as onboarding,

assessments, and dashboards

Work within an existing component-based design system (Tailwind / shadcn-style

components)

Translate product requirements into clear, implementation-ready designs

Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure accurate and feasible

implementation

Iterate quickly based on feedback and real product usage

Maintain consistency across pages, states, and user flows

Who Should Apply:

Candidates with experience using modern UI design tools (Figma preferred)

Strong understanding of web UI fundamentals: layout, spacing, typography, and

hierarchy

Familiarity with component-based design systems

Ability to design responsive web interfaces

Comfortable handing off designs to engineers and iterating on feedback

Attention to detail and bias toward execution

Preferred:

Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, or similar systems

Basic understanding of React / Next.js component structures

Experience designing dashboards, forms, or data-heavy interfaces

Interest in startups, product design, or developer-adjacent tools

This internship is ideal for someone looking to gain real product design

experience in a fast-moving startup environment not a speculative or research-

only design role.
