Content and Social Media Marketing - Internship

We are Laung Island, a music band focused on growing our audience and booking

more live shows. We already have a strong bank of prerecorded audio and video

content, and we're looking for a creative, driven intern to help us turn that

content into engaging social media posts - especially short-form video. This

role is ideal for someone interested in music marketing, content creation, or

artist branding.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

A. Content Creation & Editing -

1\. Edit existing long-form videos into short-form reels (7-30 seconds)

2\. Select strong hooks and moments that grab attention

3\. Add captions, subtitles, and basic visual elements

4\. Repurpose content across platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube

Shorts)

B. Social Media Management -

1\. Schedule and publish posts consistently (3-5 times per week)

2\. Write engaging captions aligned with the band's voice

3\. Use relevant hashtags, location tags, and trending formats

4\. Maintain a content calendar

C. Community Engagement -

1\. Respond to comments and DMs in a timely and friendly manner

2\. Engage with fans, similar artists, venues, and promoters

3\. Repost tagged content and fan stories when relevant

D. Growth & Research -

1\. Research trends in music and short-form video content

2\. Monitor similar artists and industry accounts for inspiration

3\. Experiment with new formats and ideas to increase reach and engagement

E. Lead Generation Support (Shows & Bookings) -

1\. Help optimize the Instagram bio and pinned posts for bookings

2\. Use call-to-actions that encourage venue and promoter inquiries

3\. Flag and organize incoming booking-related DMs or messages

F. Analytics & Reporting -

1\. Track basic performance metrics (views, engagement, follower growth)

2\. Share simple insights on what content is working and why
