Instructional Game Designer - Internship

We are looking for a passionate Instructional Game Designer Intern who will

creatively write and design educational games grounded in children's

curriculum. The candidate will collaborate closely with writers, animators,

illustrators, and AI teams to create engaging gameplay mechanics and learning

experiences that align with pedagogical goals. This internship combines

instructional design and game design to ensure every game is fun, intuitive,

and impactful for children's learning journeys.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1\. Translate curriculum concepts into emotionally engaging, curriculum-

aligned gameplay systems and narrative scenarios.

2\. Write and iterate game scripts, interaction flows, and reward structures

with a creative eye for child engagement.

3\. Develop detailed game design documents (GDDs), learning-to-game mapping

matrices, and skill progression paths.

4\. Collaborate with animators, illustrators, and game developers to bring

concepts to life visually and interactively.

5\. Design branching stories, role-play simulations, quizzes, and exploratory

game modules that blend education with play.

6\. Use AI tools to prototype, generate variations, and analyze gameplay

telemetry for continuous improvement.

7\. Break down and scaffold learning objectives into game mechanics that

support different age groups and cognitive outcomes.

8\. Work with curriculum experts to ensure games meet academic standards and

adapt to learner profiles.

9\. Participate in feedback reviews, play tests, and iterative design cycles

to optimize user engagement and learning outcomes.
